Applied for car loan and was denied due to Credco reporting 0 score. Is this legal? Experian score is 630?
Cute Gurl asked:
I have been applying for credit not knowing that credco had me at 0 -factor. I don’t understand why. They also have me listed as a different birth date, but I know its me because the inquiry appears on my credit reports. When I check my score w/ all three bureaus I have more than a 590. What can I do? . Is it legal for them to do this?

crendco isnt even a credit report company. Wow, what’s going on.
Its Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion.

Never heard of Credco, try another lender.

Credco? That sounds a bit shady. With whom did you apply for a loan? One of the easier loans to get approved for is here:
It is a pretty cool program. You apply, get approved ahead of time then they send a blank check to you that is valid for up to the amount you get approved for. Then you can go anywhere you want and just write out the check and drive away with your car. Good Luck.

I don’t think 590 is all that high.
You have checked your scores, but have you checked the report to see if there is something on there that can be deleted to up that score?
You say that you have been applying for credit? Be very careful there also. Too many hits on your credit report even if you have been accepted, aren’t good either.
Who had you listed as a different birth date? The company that you are trying to get credit from, or the credit three credit reporting agencies? If it is the big three, you need to get that changed. I am not a paranoid type person but you need to be careful with identity fraud!
As for it being illegal to be turned down for credit, NO. You can have excellent credit and if they don’t want to extend, they don’t have to.
