Is there a way to repair your credit by sending registered letters denying the debts to the credit report cos?
Kimberly B asked:
I have heard this often. That you can send registered letters denying the debts one by one to the three credit reporting bureaus and if they didn’t provide proof of the debts within 30 days or something that they had to remove the debts. Everything except judgements. Is this true? If so, how is it done exactly?

Except, they will get the proof. They will contact the debtors and they will provide the proof.

i have done it before, and they keep the debt on your credit report but they add that the debt was disputed by the person. And I did not make that debt. somebody used my social security to get a cell phone. And i think that it was my ex wife. They can remove the debt, only if you did not make the debt, because if you have a lot of debts, they are going to suspect of why does this person has too many identity thefts. go and google Experian, Transunion, and Equifax, and get their addresses. write them and let them know of the debt, and make a dispute.

Anything that is reported to credit bureaus has to be reported correctly. You can dispute anything that is incorrect. The credit bureaus has to notify you creditors of the dispute. They have thirty days to respond. If they do not, the information has to be removed.
I’ve found some good information here too…
Hope that helps.
